My Story

Hi, my name is Joe and I am running the Bath Half Marathon to help raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Society- a fantastic charity that looks at supporting people living with dementia in the UK.

Alzheimers is a devastating disease that involves the deteoration of the brain- causing issues with memory, thinking, judgment and much more. It affects millions of families, not just individuals, around the world as it doesn't just take memories, but slowly changes relationships which can have an enormous impact on those living with the disease as well as their loved ones.

Alzheimer's accounts for around 60-70% of dementia cases and, with a family member of mine living with dementia currently, this makes Alzheimers Society UK a charity very close to my heart as the challenges she faces are shared by millions affected by Alzheimers.

With the number of people affected with Alzheimers growing, I am running the Bath Half Marathon to help provide this amazing charity any support I can to aid them in funding research towards treatments, and raise awareness for dementia care.
